BOUNDLESS
A youth performance about noticing and setting limits
Someone shouts. They must hurry. Pelle and Alice must race. If Alice wins, Pelle must leave the class. If Pelle wins, he stays. They stand at the starting line. Everyone holds their breath. Then Elias’ voice sounds: ‘3, 2, 1’. It is summer. The sun shines. On ‘NOW’ they run. It’s been five years. After that, Alice and Elias have been hanging out. Each other’s best friends. Now it’s the 9th grade with full speed, community, parties and spring romances. But slowly the question of what really happened creeps up.
In Boundless, the actors swirl the young audience into different stories, where setting limits and transgressive behavior play the main role. The stories weave together and in and out of each other and are about how difficult it can be to feel a boundary, to speak out when someone crosses it, and about situations where you first see the boundary on the other side. With the performance, MÆRKVÆRK wants to give young people the courage to set boundaries and the desire to have the difficult and vulnerable conversations that can result from setting them.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE GET THE YOUNG PEOPLE THEMSELVES TO REFLECT ON THEIR OWN AND OTHERS’ LIMITS. ONLY THERE DOES MANY REALIZE THAT BOUNDARIES ARE DIFFERENT […].
