SNOW AND SAND
Can you live on a lie?
Snow and Sand won the Danish Playwrights’ Manuscript Award for Children and Young People 2020 for a strong idiom and a simple staging. The play revolves around divorce and loneliness in a story about the boy Johan, who uses his imagination as a way out. But what happens when his imagination can’t be controlled?
Johan has lost his key and is locked out. When will his mother come home? Darkness descends over the snow in the apartment building. His mother works all the time, and his parents no longer live together. Johan has to fend for himself as best he can. He uses his imagination to create meaning in life. If you make up a story in your head about the things that happen in life, reality is actually not so bad.
There are snowballs and love, betrayals and revelations.
