TAD

Benji Davies touching picture book as theatre

Hidden among the reeds at the water’s edge lies an egg. There are 1-2-3-4-5-6-many hundreds of eggs. Inside one of them, an eye blinks. It’s Tad. Little Tad. The very-smallest-almost-frog in the entire pond. Soon she’ll crawl out of the egg and swim with all her siblings. Soon she’ll wag her tail twice as much to keep up when they play “Who’s afraid of Gavflab?”. Soon she’ll shudder at the thought of a huge Gavflab lurking in the darkness on the muddy bottom of the pond. But there’s no Gavflab at all. Or is there? Come with us underwater, between the swaying water reeds, and experience the tadpole’s wondrous transformation from tiny to frog.
