ANTIGONE

Can one defy the law in the service of a greater cause?

Psychological, political and philosophical dilemmas meet in fiery conflict in a to-the-bone, fast-paced version of Sophocles’ Antigone performed by two actors and a live electronic musician.

Punishment and conscience, young and old, woman and man, individual and society are pitted against each other when ZeBU and Signe Kærup Dahl present their version of Antigone. Who does the audience sympathize with? The rebel Antigone or the authority Creon? Civil disobedience has always occurred. Just look at Greenpeace, Extinction Rebellion and Pussy Riot, all breaking the law in the service of a greater cause. But when does it tip from being civil disobedience to suicide?
